What might be happening to you, related to what gary says is that your model might not me anywhere near the absolut 0,0 position in acad. What you might be getting is your model, but way too far to be seen.
Solution:
Move the object with acad move comand to the absolute coordinates 0,0,0 (x,y,z), and then try re importing your file into dw.Good luck
