Posted by Peter B on March 23, 2001 at 11:24:53:A problem that I have been having with roof forms seems to be that DW does not like to reshape extrusions. I import plan polygons with PICT from PowerCADD, but even when I import a simple rectangle to indicate a roof plane--by the time I reshape it to a hip roof shape the object is defective and won't shade properly. If I instead create a block in DW, there is no problem. This hurts the sense that you can import 2D plan information for use in DW.
Still hoping for the architectural tools that allow you to simply tell the computer what you already know. The plate is HERE. The roof slope is THIS. so on. and let it work the shape out.
