Dear Greg,

Thank you for contacting Artifice.

To see transparency with DesignWorkshop Professional, regardless of platform, use the View menu Shadow Casting command while in a Lights and Textures view.

If you are using DesignWorkshop on a Macintosh computer DesignWorkshop will take advantage of your built-in hardware acceleration and render transparenct in the default Lights and Textures renderer. Unfortunately there are no QuickDraw 3D hardware accellerators for Windows, so this feature is not available on Windows.

When Quesa is released Windows users should be able to render transparency in the default Lights and Textures renderer. Quesa will use OpenGL for the low level rendering, which does support transparency on Windows.

Please let us know whenever you have further questions.

Best wishes,

Mike Wheeler
