Frank if your cad or graphics program can convert to outlines then it is almost as easy.
1. Type a line of text.
2. Convert to outline. Discard true text object and keep outline.
3. Save as dxf.
4. Open in DW. Extrude to thickness then size desired using info box. Rotate to plane desired.
5. Select material definition.
Not done entirely in DW which would be nice but it IS pretty easy.
