What is involved in conversion of 2D Autocad drawings to 3D

Hi Everyone,
I am wondering, if i have a complete set of 2d autocad 14 files for a building that include floorplans, and elevations for an 8 level structure, how much work is involved in converting those files into a 3D image ? Any sugestions on inexpensive resources to do it for me?
