The idea that there is one best 3D software across the board is... how not to be rude here... silly, shall we say?

Without specifying the application area more specifically, how is there even a basis for comparison?

Please note that this is an architectural design discussion area, not a general animation discussion area. Since most contemporary architecture is inherently polygonal, for significant physical reasons, it makes good sense for architectural software to take advantage of some of the inherent efficiencies of polygon processing.
