I use 3d Studio Max 4 (quite expensive, but works) for rendering, and it is perfect for photorealistic images, and there a lot of plugins for rendering in Max, developed by third parties.I m running on Design firm and found that Max is good enough to generate images for buildings, besides AutoCAD can export files to .3ds which can be use in Max.
