Make sure your first job is in design . Apply for all good firms,
travel if necessary . Get experience in 3d CAd, ProEngineer or SolidWorks - ProE has student version, P2P groups often list
Solidworks / AutoCAd . This should open doors, as many smaller firms
need 3d cad folk, and most degree students don't learn that much .Try for job that is analytical, rather than just 'design - rule of thumb' . Remember that most folk think that mechanical design is simple, unlike the talents needed for Hardware Design .
FEA/ CFD knowledge will get you above these menial jobs, again
ProMechanica is available as stsudent version .
You are lucky - Italy still has good manufacturing base .
Post Grad course good idea to get into the top league of companies,
eg motorsport, just depends on who your university is liked to , but
1 yr course with sponsored project, prehaps summer job is best route
in .
You can take my advise with pinch of salt, as I worked my way into
Mech Design for telecomms equipment - not the best career move possibe!
