Yes that is what's happening. Did you hear the one about the wagon wheel makers who tried to keep the lower priced more efficient automobiles from dominating the market? They failed. CAD is less of a specialty today because computer knowledge is less of a specialty today. Thats just the way it is. To try and band together and keep prices high is called a racket or price fixing.

You might be frustrated because your CAD skills were once unique and in high demand, but are no longer so. An auto mechanic in 1912 was probably unique and inhigh demand, but no longer today.
