Think you can design an astounding children's playstructure in 3 hours while an audience watches ?
You have the chance, at the The 8th Designers 3D CAD Challenge in the World Trade Center Boston Amphitheater, at BuildBoston2003, Wednesday, November 19, 2003.
This year, since it is a real design project for a great charity cause, we are announcing the challenge design beforehand, and posting the design criteria, site information, and context 3D CADD models online NOW.
The Ronald McDonald House is a place where the families of children with cancer can live while their child/sibling undergoes treatment at nearby hospitals. As many as 18 families, including their brothers and sisters may be living at the house - the playground is a focal point of inspiration and escape for the house. The design project is for a new playspace, including playspace structures, that will wow, inspire, amaze, and enrapture a child.
In past years we restricted participants to one team for each type of CADD software. This year because of the public cause, we welcome any and all designers - please do bring your laptop computers though, so that we can project each person's in-progress work on the big screen. We also look forward to "kids-eye view" virtual reality walk-throughs of your designs.
