When i want to move a selection with snap to endpoint (with keyboard shortcut "E"), about 5% of the
time it snaps to the nearest point, although the endpoint highlights.
This is very annoying, does anyone have the same experience or an idea what the problem could be ??

Paul

While in your document:

1. Go to "Layout" and select "Drawing Setup"

2. Hit the "Snap" tab

3. You will notice the "snap distance" setting is set by default at "9". For me that's too sensitive. Try a lower number in this box, such as 3. Enter the number under snap distance and hit the Tab key. Close this dialog and you will find the snap tool will be more precise and less in the way.

Note you will have to do this operation with every document you create.

You could set up a Stationery sheet where you can set the snap behavior by default.

I find it annoying that snaps are active when you're zooming to a window, but that's just me.

I shouldn't matter what the snap distance is set to.
When i choose snap endpoint it has to snap to the endpoint regardless the snap distance set in preferences, or am i wrong ?

You're right Paul, it shouldn't matter. "E" should always go to an end point.

I've never experienced the problem you are describing. It sounds like an odd one so it might be either drawing specific or perhaps something to do with your set-up.

Perhaps when the problem occurs you should send the drawing to mike at engsw.com and include a description of the move you make that causes the problem.

This has happened to me. I never use snap to grid, but sometimes it is on, and this can confuse the snaps. When I turn it off the problem goes away.
