Greetings, I am a registered architect with three years of experience.
I am interested in further studies in sustainable design and community design for nontraditional clients.
I eventually intend to teach and/or practice in the developing world.
So far, I have been looking at the following programs:
1. MAUD Columbia University
2. MSArchS M.I.T.
3. MArch UC Berkeley
4. MArch UCLA
5. MArch U Texas Austin
6. MArch U Washington Seattle
Please do comment, suggest other post-professional programs that I may have missed, or direct me to other forums that might help. I would really appreciate it. Thanks. |

| if youre looking for urban design programs MUD....check out michigan and Harvard GSD. There arent too many of these programs around and im not shure how they compare. For great sustainable design programs check out oregon, and risd. Yale also has an interesting "housing" program where students actually build a house or something. The university of auburn (i think) has a program started by samuel mockbee where students design and build houses. Its great you have an idea of what youre looking for, most people on these post just ask for the ten best grad schools...then people argue forever about numbers one through three. |

raymond,
M.I.T. also has a building technology program that has grown significantly in the past few years. It is now a seperate entity under the Architecture school umbrella. I was invited to attend some of these classes merely as an observer. I was impressed with the range and sccope of study that the program offers (everything from green architecture to acoustics to spatial ergonomics).
I hope this helps.
Regards,

raymond,
UT-Austin also has a very good program in sustainable architecture. A friend of mine graduated with Master of Arch with a Specialization in Sustainable Architecture.
