Hello.
I grew up in Chicago, and moved to Boston in the mid 90s.
I recently paid Chicago a visit and proceeded to go to the area I grew up in, and lo and behold it has changed drastically.
The one building that caught my eye was the one below. A single family home. Wow.

Does anyone know what kind off style this is? I've been to the major cities in the US and I think I've never seen something like this.
Thanks. |

| Nice, but looks to much like a small church for my taste. |

Wow, very nice. It looks like the architect took design ques from the adjacent building(s). It has a definite Chicago-feel. Stanley Tigerman wrote an article years ago on Chicago architects of the second degree and this house looks to have influences from that group of architects. I am thinking about Chicago architects like Keck and Keck, the Bowman Brothers, and Andrew Rebori.
To answer your question - I would call this Art Deco or Moderne.
Where in the city is this located? I am headed to Chicago in a week and would love to see some of the new urban house designs that are being built in Chicago. |

Thanks.
It's around the Wicker Park Area.
It's on N. Hoyne Street (either 1 block south of Division or one block north of Division). |

| Thanks for directions. I'll check with the Hotel, I'm sure they can help me from there. |

its a really interesting image. the first thing that came to mind, and due to it being from chicago influence, was unity temple. in form it seems to come from there, in ornament, as well, but also has that pinch of deco, as did unity, only translated by frank. _________________ good luck, i hope we make it... |
