I am looking for an addiator that will work with feet and inches. I would prefer one that worked with sixteenths, but one that went to eighths would be alright as well.
any info would be nice.
Thanks, Joe |

Do you mean a real one - a metal one? I've only ever seen one (my mum's from junior school - in the 1970s!), was under the impression they stoped making them when slide rules came in! Ebay might be able to help you, or i guess there might be a software emulator?
Am genuinely intrigued, why do you want one/ do you use one often? I mean, I doubt anyone knows what they are any more let alone uses them, same for slide rules pretty much.
Anyone puzzled, look here:

Ebay has a £/s/d one for just a few £ here |

| Yeah, I work in the piping industry and we deal purely in feet and inches. A lot of the people I work with have one and I really prefer them over the little feet/inches calculators. I check ebay a lot... but they rarely come up, and when they do, they go for a lot. I was hoping to come across someone who would sell one to a poor drafter for a reasonable price! They are pretty cool little contraptions. I find it interesting that nothing similar is still made. |
