I’m sure you folks get lots of questions like this, so I’ll apologize in advance for redundancy.
I’m a 28 year old professional who’s been working in a Sale/Consulting environment for about 6 years. I took a lot of Art courses in High School, including, AP drawing, 3d design, illustration, color and design, etc. I even had a portfolio ready for my art school applications and interviews. As graduation approached however I chose that instead of being a starving artist,I’d rather be a wealthy businessman, and off to business school I went. In hind sight I don’t regret not going to art school necessarily but certainly am wishing I had went in a more creative direction with my education and career.
So, here I am, in between conference calls and lead development meetings; contemplating a career change.
I realize changing careers means going back to school for 5 maybe 6 years, and I’m willing to do it if it’s the right choice. So, I was hoping if I posted this on an architecture forum I could get some insight as to what it is like to be a professional architect and, maybe help me decide if this is the right direction for me to head in.
Thanks in Advance,
