Has there been a change to the way Version 8 handles command keys for line weight and fonts.
In Version 6 and before the key assignment was made to a location on the menu, rather than the particular line weight or font that was intended. Because of this, every time that another program installs any new font, my font commands are screwed up because the font I assigned is no longer in the same position it was in before. and I have to go through and reassign the keys to the correct fonts. A similar thing happens with line weights if I open an old drawing that doesn't have the line weights in the same order in the menu. The command key will yield whatever line weight is in the same position.
I've never understood why the command key assignment couldn't be made to the actual line weight or font rather than a blind menu location. Has this changed in Version 8? This won't keep me from upgrading, but it sure would be nice if this old aggravation had disappeared in the new version.

| In PC8 Global attributes now work across all files and stay fixed as files are opened and closed, so that once you set them to a stationary file, they stay that way across any file opened. This means that line weights, hatches, etc. stay in the same place in the menus so that once you assign a key command to an attribute that key command works across all files.

What about the fonts? They're not part of the program but a call the program makes on the system.

Don't know about the fonts, I've had so much trouble with different fonts over the years that I only use Helvetica in the drawing body and Helvetica and Times in the title blocks. Same for text size, as I only use one size I don't know if you can set command keys for different text size. I do know that now command keys work for line weight, hatch pattern, color, line type, arrow across all files.
I recently purchased the little Apple wireless keyboard, there is a nice space across the top on which I made two rows which identify what the function and shift-function keys do in Powercadd. This works really well, and as it is the same size as a Macbook Pro keyboard the same key-commands list works on it. I've attached it if anyone wants to use it. I print these on glossy photo paper and apply them with poster tape. Thinner paper is better as it will follow the slight curve of the keyboard.

Was not able to get the attachment to send as a PC file, will try a pdf.
Note that these key commands are not the standard PC commands, they are the ones I use and set up using Key Commands under Powercadd/preferences.
