Thats a tough one, your best bet would be to find a local school or even doctor that is familiar with Autistic people.

I am a designer developing a new company called "design+autism", set to launch early '09. I have been an interior designer for some 22 + years in the Southern Indiana area. My oldest child is 14 and suffers from a severe form of this disability. I recently wrote a random blog (for our local newspaper) entitled Design and Autism. To my great surprise, I have since been inundated with requests for services to address these needs. I am now submitting a book on the topic for publication, and starting this service as a new business develpoment, in addition to maintaining my existing interior design practice here in Indiana. I plan on handling clientele across the country, as the need warrants. This is really a leap of faith as a businessman, but I feel it is perhaps a greatly needed service. We'll see. My current business website is, www.kipfarmer.com Please let me know if I may be of any help to you, Mitch. Thanks, Kip

My name is Deborah DiMare. I saw kip's site a while ago. Wonderful. I too have a company that designs spaces for Autistic children and children with sensory integration issues. It's incredible that no one has addressed this before. Please visit my site at www.DiMareDesign.com. It is a temporary site. I'm having a much more informative site being built. My services are nationwide. Actually, they are global. I've worked outside of this country designing spaces for families who have multiple homes. As one knows, many children with developmental issues prefer order and do not like change. So, it is only natural for me to design the children's space almost identical for each dwelling.

I look forward to hearing from you. Enjoy your day.

Checking back in to let you know that my new design+autism website just went live. Please make note of this innovative new firm as a resource for residential and commercial interior design services for those who struggle with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Response to the concept has been overwhelming thus far. We are encouraged about this important new feild of design work. www.designautism.com

You could research about pschological effects of spaces etc.. and how to overcome/cure autism by physical circulation /articulation of spaces..interviewing some autists might be helpful ..
good luck;)
