HI i recently got accepted into their architecture programs, UofT and Carleton.
I am confused to which one to choose..I really like the atmosphere in Toronto and wouldn't trade it for Ottawa, however the programs seem to be much different.
I find it a big odd that uoft doesn't require a portfolio, so therefore it accepts students who have a high average but not any drawing skills..? it also doesnt offer drawing and art classes in the first couple of years which seems odd as well.
On the other hand Carleton is very much art based, (i hear) so i am very very confused and i know that i will regret picking any of them ...so pleaseeeee help. Which one do you think is better between the two?
p.s: i didnt even bother applying into ryerson..waterloo seems too technical, ubc is too far, and i wish i knew mcgill needed chemistry so yah...thats about it
HELP!!! |

Hello
I strongly Recommend that you go to the University of Toronto. Maclean's Magazine annually ranks Universities and in the 2007 ranking the University of Toronto did a lot better then the University of Carleton. Under the National Repetitional Ranking which is divided into four parts, that are Best Overall, Highest Quality, Most Innovative, and Leaders Of Tomorrow.
Heres how the University of Toronto Ranked out of 47 Universities
Best Overall: 4
Highest Quality: 4
Most Innovative: 7
Leaders Of Tomorrow: 2
Heres how the Universiy of Carleton Ranked out of 47 Universities
Best Overall: 35
Highest Quality: 38
Most Innovative: 36
Leaders Of Tomorrow: 28
The statistics prove that the University of Toronto is a MUCH BETTER school then the University of Carleton. |

Hi
I strongly advise you to go to the University of Toronto for a number of reasons. First and for most it is a better school. It is internationally recognized and since Toronto is one of the top cities in the world people around the world know of it and if you ever wanted to work or even do your masters abroad, people will like a degree from the University of Toronto. |

I do know uoft is a better university overall but id like to know more of the architecture program, if i won't get to take as many art classes as i wish than the rep of the university won't really do me any good...
i still am very confused |

I wish it was ME, don't worry about what you should take, for you can always do the other later. Just be good at what you do! _________________ StonewallMary's
