Bangkok is a mystery to me...

Bangkok is lovely in July...yeah with the tropical climate and all...
To the point, I will be in Thailand for several weeks in July with a few days to be spent in Bangkok. I am trying to create a short (read: long) list of buildings and sites that contain some architectural value, to be visited between meals of only the spiciest examples of the Thai diet. Almost everything I have found through research thus far relates either to temples or bland glass box high rises. Not dismissing the temples, but I know there must be more there.
Seeing as these sites will be visited between the above mentioned meal types, this list could very well represent the last structures I will ever see (at least with my digestive track intact).
