Top link, SDR!
Senor da Rocha must, I guess either be best pals with Niemayer or deadly rivals.
Anyway, it's like a free book.
And I have a soft spot for that bold, sculptural concrete that's all about passion. Yeah. |

Yeah ! Wish there was more on his own house; that brooding subterranean entry sequence and the row of frameless tilt-out windows deserves another look.
See also the complete list of previous winners. . .

So . . .
Who's your favourite Prtizker Prize laureate? For me: Tadao Ando.

it's actually a rather strange list, come to think of it.
For me:
Koolhaas, just because he's such a clever, witty, courageous fella
Moneo, because he's a poet
Herzog & de Meuron, because they're getting better and better
but it's tough to leave out the likes of Foster, Piano, Hadid, Niemeyer, Stirling, Rossi, Ando I mean, cummon, they're all great |

Of course they're all great. That wasn't the question. Which ONE is your favorite?

If it's whimsical you like, then why not then Gehry? Just curious...
At any rate, I didn't realize we should add a reason as to our choice but it would have seemed logical.
Okay, okay: Murcutt because of his attention to details that strengthen the quality of his spaces and expresses the materials in sensible ways in a context that is simply...poetic. His work is refreshingly simple, in the smallest of ways, and I think he does that better than anyone else because he also has an uncanny desire to work only on one typology. Regardless, in my opinion, that is the essence of architecture...the perfection of parts to a whole. To accomplish this in such a beautiful product is simply architectural nirvana, no matter how small (or large) a project.
