Hi guys! i am currently taking up my thesis in interior design. there are just about 5 areas to research/study/and make a design. these are the:
lobby,
funeral chapel,
universal chapel,
columbarium,
and a buddhist temple.
any ideas in relation to this topic would surely be of help!
i would sure want to know the things to consider in designing these areas and apply the native culture on death and the color psychology to lessen the mourners' grief. any ideas, guys?
research on this topic is sure a tough one..
thanks! |

regards color it should be definitely grey like that of calm sea , couple of hours before sunset,
becos though they say grey/ calm sea is depressing color/ thing to look at ,
it provides solace when one is depressed and helps reduce grief,
and the form too could be similarly low ceilings / closed in spaces
since when one is depressed/ grieving one tends to seek isolation and closed spaces , maybe when the mood resonates with the surrounding the mind would be more at ease
than if u were to give pastel shades or uplifting spaces , it would definitely contrast the mood , and there might be a school of thought that would encourage this contrast _________________ veishally |

great idea you have there, good reasoning too..now my current problem is to propose a 5-star-hotel-like design in all areas that will respect all types of religions. and my chapel has indeed a very weird plan. oh no! looks like i'm gonna be in big trouble now.. by the way, does anyone of you have links on contemporary gothic architecture? or the universality design in all religions? |

Recommended buildings , websites I could look at. Regarding your thesis best of luck and if I can be of any help ,let me know. |
