A couple of months ago, ArchitectureWeek ran a story on a new museum with blue amorphous roof and circular skylights. The blue roof contrasted with the red-tiled roofs of the medieval adjacent buildings. Can someone please tell me the name of the museum, the city, and/or the architect? I'm trying to look into it and can't remember any of the details.
Thanks,
Rich |

Try this link for the "Austrian Alien"
[url]http://www.architectureweek.com/2003/1203/design_1-1.html

From the Architecture Week article:
"In celebration of Graz's status as Cultural Capital of Europe 2003, British architects Peter Cook and Colin Fournier, in association with the Austrian firm Architektur Consult, have designed the Kunsthaus Graz, a new gallery for contemporary and multidisciplinary art. "
This building was also in a recent Architectural Record magazine.
I located this by checking the Architecture Week Contents page, and found it listed under "Cumulative Contents." |

I just loved that building - saw it in the recent Architectural Record. I just love it when European cities shake it up a bit. Nothing beats a completely alien intrusion into a tight urban setting like this. _________________ Have fun,
