any one who is a soccer fan here would know this better.
alright!! all i want you to do, is to name a few football stadiums u like more, and a discription why.
example, i like F.C. Porto's home ground Estadio do Dragao.
what i like the best of it is...
when the euro2004 tournament was going on and i was watching it on TV, a TV host was standing outside the stadium, alongside a highway and in the backdrop what i could see was the seating of Estadio do Dragao. now i would imagine myself driving along that high way, and right in front of me just above the road i can see the people in the stadium celebrating football.
What i wanna say here is, the way the stadium is transparent and the way it would convey the message of the event organised there to the thousands more driving along the highway nearby. i mean it affects it's surrounding in almost every manner possible!
i belive this is something very unique.
otherwise i also like the Santiago Bernabau for the way it reflects the logo of Real Madrid C. F. (the club owning it). |

hi
well i wont be rating any of the stadiums tat i like but i can suggest a few of interest.
according to me, although small, the Rebook stadium of Bolton, England is one i like.Mainly because of its structural system which is visible and looks good on it.
to be honest the stadiums at Korea and Japan built on the eve of the World cup are really wonderful. |

I have been to Bolton's stadium a couple of times and don't like it hugfely as a ground.. it is quite steep sided, offers no room for expansion and, on a personal level, i just diuslike it's aesthetic and form.
Huddersfield's McAlpine stadium is a beautiful building, but a really bad stadium as it lets all atmosphere and sound noise out of the open corners when the Yorkshire winds whip down the valley.
Ipswich's new North Stand by Hok Sports is one construction I love. It was built on a relatively low budget and designed very well to fit on a constrained footprint. the use of materials is novel too, offering shadowey sillhoettes of people inside, good massing at the corners for bar, shop space and perfect views from all seats. _________________ Will |

no. there wouldn't be a UK team as the UK don't compete in the OIlympic movement, Ireland operate seperately as they're a sep[erate nation. there is talk of a GB team, which should happen though Scotland are currently cautious. _________________ Will |

But the UK doesn't contain Ireland/Eire/ ROI (whichever name you prefer) - that point is irrelevant i think:
UK = United Kingdom of Great Britain (the island) and Northern Ireland (the province) on the other island! Look on your passport if you don't believe me. UK is not "gb and ireland"
And thats how we compete at the olympics - UK - look at the uk map on the london2012 bid website and NI is shown marked as part of UK but Eire isn't.
I've just scoured the history pages of the irish olympic team website; nothing about northern ireland competing with eire there either - be a bit of a coup if they did i guess.
So i think you might be incorrect on that. |
