I use a piece of software called Tree

www.onyxtree.com

I can generate a number of different types of trees and render them in FormZ, then I use them all over.

Thanks for the reminder. I saw and nearly purchased onyxtree at a MacWorld Expo a few years ago and lost track of whether it was still around. Ever bring one of their trees into SketchUP or Design workshop? Are they too complex for speed issues in those programs?

I don't use either of those, but they do tend to be complex models, unless you do saplings, I ended up taking them into FormZ and render them alone then place them into my models with Photoshop.
