Dear Designers, Builders, and Dwellers,

Green Wednesday, by the editors of ArchitectureWeek, brings you weekly news on green design and building from around the world.

Green and Sustainable Design and Building News This Week
--------------------------------------------------------
This week we've collected quite a few stories about people and firms doing green projects. These stories of experience range from naive students to Foster's new Hearst Tower. And depending on where you are on your own green path, some will have more to say to you than others.

But even the tales toward the dewey-eyed end of the spectrum reflect a wide and hopeful fascination with sustainable construction. Even for the most jaded old ecological practitioner, these stories can remind and reveal mainstream perspectives on this essential approach.

Don't miss the report from Chattanooga on an AIA-Tennessee-sponsored talk by ArchWeek contributor Ed Mazria:

"Architects have been complaining that they're losing status... Well, that has changed. Now we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to change the world."

ArchitectureWeek is a green publication. By publishing
this professional design and building magazine online-only,
we save about 48 tons of paper monthly, or about 50 big
trees-worth every week, compared to reaching a similar
readership on paper - not counting these newsletters!
We provide ongoing pro-bono services to local non-profit
sustainability organizations. And our company offices are
powered by 100% wind energy through our local utility:
