I'd like to ask all of you out there, what are the best questions you get from clients? The kind of question that makes you say: That's a good question! The other day, someone asked me "What are the challenges you see in our project ?" and I thought "what a good question". What other good questions are you all hearing out there?

Generally speaking, the best questions I've ever heared were somehow concerning my favorite methods in architecture.

One of the questions I get asked a lot is, "Do you see any problems with my floor plan?" Or my all-time favorite; "How much will these plans cost?"

What the average new homeowner sees at the start of his building project is simply a stack of plans that look inexpensive, but are not. If you get that question too, you need to stress the fact that even though the plans cost several thousand dollars, the savings add up to a lot more than that with the time saved on a construction site when 4 to 6 guys can keep moving. I have heard stories of awful plans bringing a construction crew to a screeching halt while the foreman and the homeowner spent a lot of time (on the job site) figuring out a bad plan. Guess who will not sit there without pay? The carpenters....
