promotion to and by architects have been discussed on this and another thread.
I had already responded to the point about climbing walls.
you do not consider targetting in marketing to be of relevance - that is your choice. _________________ Richard Haut has worked with the architectural profession for over 25 years and produces the weekly Richard Haut's Competitions, which has given architects details of many thousands of projects for which they can apply across Britain and Europe. |

That sounds pretty good. Hmmmmm I'm a bit nervous, going all out on the internet. Is this an irrational fear? For example: Posting my business link here.
Is there any conflict of interest between trying to help folks out and scoring a big cash cow? _________________ n/a |

I know I'm deviating from the subject, but I have to simply state that this is so true...
| Quote: | | The Internet can be useful, but for architects its primary use is not in directionless wandering around search engines: its primary value is in enabling a cheap form of brochure which can be constantly updated. |
...many Architects don't get it; either but not having a decent web page that at a minimum gives clear indication as to how to contact the firm or by overdoing a webpage as if some big cheese is gonna spend 3 hours surfing their webpage.
As for the marketing of a widget, all products benefit from B2B and B2C web advertising...but there is a difference in the two. Climbing walls may well benefit more from direct purchase from businesses...marketing, for either or any case is just as Richard points out, is based upon your target market. It's the very first question in marketing? What's your market? From there you build your short, medium and longterm strategies...which no matter what, should include web commerce. But caveat emptor...don't put all your eggs into one basket. Relying solely on web advertisement is ludicrous, for any industry.

I was resonding to the question asked in the subject. I don't think you were deviating from the subject at all, spot on if anything.
In front of somebody is the best place to advertise. How you get in front of somebody is another question. I fell into a marketing degree somewhere in my past. _________________ n/a |
