Did you notice your responses are no longer here Ed? And a foolish comment was allowed to remain, which only demonstrates an active intent to ridicule. What more can be said to demonstrate the complete incongruency taking place in these regions of cyber-space....
These alarmists are back at it again, convinced that their "drugs must be legalized". So much for resolving the financial crisis. How about getting all the pots heads together, tax them and the crisis is solved. A beautiful solution. If the box heads can't figure it out, the potheads can. Great idea.
Now, one idea mentioned - developing Alaska?
Apparently Alaska does not have as much oil as some would lead us to believe. It may have enough to supply us for 10 years or so, according to some estimates. However, in my view, developing Alaska could spell another environmental catastrophe, and would represent a degradation of the environment. One cannot expect they will develop it in a "green" way.
And now Obama wants to combine the Pentagon aerospace budget with Nasa's budget. It sounds like they are actually doing something similar as to what had been proposed here in this discussion! So in part they are using our ideas, and this is very nice to see. So if this merger or "cooperation" takes place between the two agencies, we are probably in for one big info_w_ar. This is however much better then a cold .w.ar, as some appear to like to see go on, as demonstrated by the nature and reaction/posts in these forums. Apparently these individuals find no other purpose in life but to create little w_ars of worlds so as to speak, in an attempt to divert away from the main issues and the greatest ideas. One could even say that is truly a form of ins.anity. In this topic, let's not loose focus of the greatest issues and ideas around anywhere. Let us not allow some to come in and spoil the fun for us now. Since these individual have no unique ideas of their own, what better way could they find to spend their time.
Additionally, invading other's discussions only with the intent to criticize others is very r.u.de and consists of sl.and.ering others, no matter they are or think they are. Every individual who joins such discussions deserves much more then this, then to only find themselves reading about individuals deriding others. Nobody really cares who these people are so it is best if they please don't bother us with their criticisms.
At this point, it is best to let other members decide who has the most unique posts and with the greatest content, and the most brilliant of ideas, projects and proposals. They would rather s.la.nder. others only to attempt to discredit their ideas. Some of the posts being criticized or under attack have also the most unique content and the best ideas. It is no wonder now why some individuals would attempt to ridicule the same. One needs to not look very far into our history to realize who are the people that are also getting the most criticism. That is, if history will teach any real lesson.
As far as the Obama ideas are concerned - to set-up a collaboration between the Defense Department and NASA - One can see this could not have come at a better time. One can only wonder now why this has not been implemented in the past. Perhaps due to the resistance on both ends of the spectrum. However Nasa already is somewhat politicized, so therefore it seems a logical step. It can be seen that the biggest problem, as noted, is the incapacity of the m.ilit.ary department to foresee what are the best rocket options for Nasa. Thus, we cannot have the D.epartment of D.e.fense influencing Nasa's decisions in a negative way. P.oliti.cal decisions without any engineering background do not result in sound decision making, as noted in the article you posted previously. At this point, one could only wish that they would eventually carry this idea further and fully implement some of the other ideas that have been suggested. But maybe this can be seen as a first step.
And this stated here appears to be one good part of the equation --
| Quote: | To boost cooperation between NASA and the Pentagon, Obama has promised to revive the National Aeronautics and Space Council, which oversaw the entire space arena for four presidents, most actively from 1958 to 1973.
The move would build ties between agencies with different cultures and agendas.
Whether such cooperation would succeed remains to be seen, said Scott Pace, a former NASA official who heads the Washington-based Space Policy Institute. “But the questions are exactly the ones the Obama team needs to ask. |
Such partnerships between different agencies each with different agendas could end up bringing about the possibility of developing more sophisticated and even significant technologies, when the budgets are merged and therefore greater, and when each arm develops different aspects of the projects. This will avoid then any technology overlap.
Now, when we think of space, there is then a tendency to forget the oceans. Of what use is it for mankind to push into the far reaches of outer space if he has not fully explored and understood the depths of our the earth's oceans? Just think, what new marine life forms do these depths hold for us? And not even to mention technologies such as Algae fuel, of which there has been no comment on here up to this point.
What we need is a summary of the best and most unique ideas on this topic so far. This will allow us to realize their full implications and ramifications. One can begin to see Obama's team quickly acting on some of these ideas, with small twists. It is as though his team were watching us. This can be seen as the most incredible result of all. . |

All ideas being posted are all coherent.
As explained and noted, there is a need for inserting at times periods and what some interpret as encoding, as a matter of avoiding mechanisms designed to trap or trigger certain words. These mechanisms prevent the posting of content with these words.
Thus what appears as dis-jointed information becomes also difficult to follow. So the link was posted previously here, and the information was gathered in a coherent manner and demonstrates the perfectly logical, sound basis for it's formulations -->>
http://infoisfreedom.freeblogit.com/2009/01/03/what-are-the-root-causes-behind-the-financial-crisis/
http://infoisfreedom.freeblogit.com/2009/01/04/central-bank-biggest-scam-ever-12-part-i/
These ideas are not the formulation of a lunatic or of one engaged in hiding information under some type of secret encoding, as some have suggested. It is rather stated in plain and clear English, no longer being there restricted by such mechanisms, which up to this point have prevented this from being presented in a coherent manner.
After the initial positive responses and ideas you posted Ed, we are beginning to come up with a new barrage of ideas and a storm of thought that has also suffered disturbances due to erroneous ideas and waves of criticism.
A call is thus now being made for more constructive feedback well as a general call also for people to read the article posted in the link and thus become aware of the issues we are all facing as a Nation.
In the above referred to blogs, the information can always be found easily.
We need to get away from inferences of past members affecting current views as well. And when you really look at it, this is completely non-sensical, when one considers that many of the related topics being criticized also have the highest post quality, content, and click rate. Thus, those discussions are bringing the largest amount of visitors to the site, with the best ideas, and yet end up being put down. When the ideas do not match the status quo and due also to cross-contamination of false past accusations. This has led to present members pursuing the same false beliefs towards other members. And many who agree have failed to speak their minds. Thus we see thousands of visitors to these popular links, but few if any actual participants. And these in turn are usually always the same individuals, and they inevitably fall back to the same attitudes. What would be nice to see is more members with a willingness to participate in the discussions - an equal playing field.
A careful look at the many ideas presented in the various links will reveal that many of them are revolutionary and extensive in detail. This topic as well has made significant progress, and thank you for your wonderful participation.
All these new ideas have brought us to a delightful infinity of possibilities, a world of new directions that we as a nation can embark on to resolve our current situation. A situation that was brought upon us solely by those who lack a sense of decency and morality. A careful look at the links posted will reveal the nature of the problem and it's causes.
It is of no use for us to focus on resolving the current crisis if we do not fully understand it's causes and implications. Thus there is a need for the other links. The two subjects are thus inextricably related. Which comes first, the spam or the egg? If someone has an egg on their face, (according to some) who then is doing the throwing? It is obviously those whose intent is to ridicule others and their ideas. This is a true, real to life example of braking the rules of engagement. These rules rather call for decency, respect, order and placing proper value on other people and their ideas. When this respect is lost, or when some can seem in some way to contort this cause, they then believe they can thus dis-credit the entire purpose and nature of these topics - this being to have a friendly exchange of ideas and in a casual manner.
Now, rather then focusing on these false ideas, it would be interesting to see members who appreciate the posts actually step and demonstrate their gratitude. There have been many who have made comments on a private level, expressing how they have enjoyed these topics, ideas and links.
Now, with the focus of this topic being how to resolve what we all have in common, let us not focus now on what apparently some feel they do not have in common. Rather, the focus should be on the solution to the common problems all are facing as a nation. |

Thank you Ed for your interesting posts and the link. Great to see at least someone really doing some thinking around here.
It is great to see the Obama team implementing some of the suggestions made, although with a twist.
Please see my comments above on the link you provided.
Now, here are some people who really are thinking outside the box :
http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Investing/JubaksJournal/creative-fixes-for-our-finances.aspx?pkw=PI&vendor=Paid+Inclusion&OCID=iSEMPI
However those ideas are a bit too conservative in comparison.
To place Social Security Funds in the stock market? This idea has already been tried in other countries, and has led to disastrous results, such as in Chile, or was it Uruguay? In any event, if failed direly down there and people only wished they had never done such a thing. It sounded nice at the time, but lead to disastrous results.
| Quote: | | Thinking about that specific question, though, raised an even larger issue: If we're in the midst of the greatest financial crisis since the Depression, why aren't we doing more outside-the-box thinking about how to resolve the crisis? |
This we are also doing here Jim.
To create a sovereign wealth fund? Forget this one. Stocks fail and all that is wiped out Jim.
| Quote: |
A better use for debt
Are there reasonable objections to this plan? Sure.
For one thing, the Social Security Trust Fund doesn't exist as a sequestered pot of money. It is instead invested in U.S. .g.o.v.e.r.nment .d.e.bt. The .g.o.v.e.rnment has spent the money raised by selling bonds to the trust fund. So raising the cash to invest in the stock market would require that the trust fund sell the bonds back to the .T.r.e.asury. To pay for the purchase, the .T.r.e.a.s.ury.. would have to sell new bonds to other investors, thus increasing the official U.S. .d.ebt. |
This is what I am trying to get to Jim. We need to capitalize on our debt. But forget the Social Security pathway. It won't work Jim. Pot of money? Well, this the pot heads can figure out. Smile Okay, granted, we invest something in .g.o.v.e.rn.me.nt ..d.e.bt, but I think we better leave Social Security out of this. And as stated Jim, we don't need solutions that only raise further U.S. .d.e.bt.
| Quote: |
Another issue often raised before the .f.i.n.a.ncial crisis was that having the .g.o.v.e.r.nm.ent... invest in the U.S. stock market would make the .go.ve.rn.ment a huge shareholder in private companies -- creating a covert form of socialism. But now that Wall Street's vocal defenders of the "free market" have become big supporters of a .g.ov.er.nm.ent... bailout that trades billions in taxpayer money for ..go.ve.rn.me.nt.. ownership of preferred stock and warrants, that argument seems, well, less convincing. |
G.ov.er.nm.ent... investing in the stock market? Well, I think at best we have risky business. Many a fortunes already have been wiped out by the stock market, so the same would happen to public funds, I am affraid. Those preferred stocks and warrants the .g.o.ve.rnm.en.t is currently holding, for example, on AIG, may end up turning out to be worthless pieces of paper should these companies not be able to get themselves back into gear. So having public money being manipulated by stock sharks is not a good idea as well. There are those who .co.nt.rol the stock market, and they buy when it is down. They cause it to down to buy, by spreading false rumors. The same they do on the inverse end, causing the market to artificially go up on stocks of interest, which they sell before all realize they are over-valued. These manipulative efforts are going on all the time and few realize there are those who act behind the scenes controlling the same. These people never loose, whether the market is up or down.
So what other 3 ideas do you have for us Jim?
Venture capital pools, microloans, grants?
| Quote: | So what about some other outside-the-box ideas to help the economy?
* How about something to make it easier for entrepreneurs to create new businesses and new jobs? I've talked to two entrepreneurs in the past couple of days who tell me that risk capital, the money they need to raise to get their ventures off the ground, has just about dried up. So what about setting up state venture-capital pools -- or increasing the funding for existing pools -- using the existing venture-capital infrastructure at state and private research universities to invest in the companies that will create jobs?
* As I read the U.S. economy of the next decade, new jobs are going to be in short supply. Why not borrow the idea of microlending to one- or two-person family businesses that has become such a successful tool for economic growth in the developing world? The loans would have to be bigger than the $200 or so that can let a woman in Bangladesh buy a sewing machine and set up a small clothing business, but how about if the g.o.v.e.r.n.me.nt.. linked a microbusiness loan program with education loans? The goal would be to offer someone who learned a skill during two years of community college the capital to start a business.
* Or how about a program that killed two (or three) birds with one stone by giving consumers direct grants to spend on energy-efficient lighting or energy-efficient washing machines or refrigerators? The idea would be to cut U.S. energy consumption, to permanently reduce household utility bills (so consumers could spend less on energy and more on something else) and to help jump-start demand at businesses producing those products. Some utilities already have experience in running programs like this for their customers. G.o.v.er.nm.ent.. funding would enable them to reach millions more households. |
Hey, I like the venture capital idea Jim. This is a great one! Particularly if it gains greater state support. But be careful as the private and State must must not mingle to much, or you will have neither one or the other and neither will function as planned.
Micro-lending? This I have suggested as well Jim. (See my previous suggestions).
About reducing house-hold utility bills - well, Jim, I think this is not going to resolve the .f.i.na.nc.ial.. .c.ri.sis.. or increase American productivity, but only increase our debt and maybe make us a little more efficient.
| Quote: | | Why have we seen so little in the way of outside-the-box thinking in this crisis? |
I ask myself that same question Jim.
| Quote: | | But you know what? I'm tired of "solutions" in which I take the risk and others -- .b.an.ks, insurance companies, CEOs, asset managers -- reap the rewards. I'm tired of "solutions" that, as the saying goes, "privatize the profits and socialize the losses." |
This I am tired of as well, thus, rescuing the .b.an.ks is getting us nowhere. |

Folks... I am of the sincere honest opinion that the longer ones' quotes remain on the internet, the less they are your own. Either by editing by unseen forces, or hacked out, or simply not my present beliefs, they are less and less my own, to include reading some of my quotes of 2003 and 4 and swearing I could not have written those words.
Fine.
And then, delete me...make it happen! Leave me my music, my DD coffee and I am a happy man-child, or whatever.
Idea number 6, Enlist the best and brightest for this disaster of ours.
For example, I met one human being in my 25 years as a taxi driver who stood out as a natural leader, a humanitarian, and just the kind of alternative influence we need.
Who would give Dwayne Johnson, aka "the Rock", any political credibility, yet everything I know about this young man says... Patriot!
In the 20 minute cab ride 20 years ago, he mentioned he had been a college football player at Florida, until he got injured, then took up Professional Wrestling, acting etc.
Soft spoken, unassuming, amazing, amazing inspirational person.
The word is, and what he didn't tell me, is that as a complete unknown wrestling prospect, he walked out onto his first public arena, and the crowd in 30 seconds was chanting..."Rocky, Rocky, Rocky", shocking the Rock like everybody else...
I say he is an American leader who should start now at the grass roots and see how far it goes, either as an elected official, or as an appointed ambassador for our country.
Bring the grass roots back into American politics! Do we ever give these everyday heros a political look?
Enlist this unsung American hero and the thousands of others like him, to help save our country!

Yes, these leaders are all around us and many of them are not well known. America is made up of many wonderful people who also deserve recognition and should be leading this country. Unfortunately, those who are leading are incompetent. A brief look at the links I posted will reveal this.
Okay, so they are enlisted to help the country. What exactly would be their tasks? What practical jobs would they be given? Would they have the capacity to actually change current policies for the better, without any knowledge of the subjects and their complex nature?
These, some initial considerations.
And now, going back to the original article which had been posted -->>

Duffminster: (Pg. 26)
| Quote: | If we wrap up this huge derivatives meltdown and sell it off at 20 cents on the dollar we will still need to accomplish the following:
Make reasonable shelter available to everyone. (Increase real wages until people can afford them. This means making the tax system conducive for corporations to keep jobs in the United States and make the US more competitive overall for employers and to boot strap a massive ongoing worker education program to keep US workers at the edge of modern skills and critical thinking to enhance not just production output but creative development output.)
Make reasonable health care available for everyone. (Only single payer is rationale and fair).
Make .b.an.ki.ng.. responsible and in the public interest (Let the insolvent ..b.an.ks. ..fail, write off the bad assets and nationalize them, which means managing them conservatively).
Make energy as close to free as possible. (Solar, geothermal, contained fusion, wind).
Use a lot more intelligence in producing and transporting healthy foods at much lower costs so no on goes hungry. Localization of food production and acquisition is a major component.
Work on non-proliferation of the thousands of WMDs, mostly held by the USA and Russia (with the goal of a world free of such terrors.)
Keep the Earth in a state which supports human life and better supports a good human life.
Have huge positive systemic changes in the way we educate people (with the re-introduction of CRITICAL THINKING) into every aspect of our sytem and a culture of ongoing education.
Push into Outer Space. Human's are outgrowing this planet. We were born for the stars.
To accomplish the above there is a huge need for the following elements, LEADERSHIP at Levels, Management, and People Caring about one another. |
Yes, this seems to generally agree with my main suggestions.
Some great ideas follow as well......(see the other suggestions in the link, and various authors there who contributed.). |

Here are some more suggestions, from the same link, with respective reactions and comments:
jwflorida:
| Quote: | | This supposedly was started with the housing industry so lets start there. This plan is for all home owners and new home owners.Every home owner (for only the house they live in) and new home owner receive $500 per month for 12 months that goes directly to their mortgage lender. (if their house is paid off then it goes to them). Yes call this income because most of John Q. Public gets a refund on tax day. Also if we are focused on finding a way to pay for this then increase the 25% and higher tax brackets by 1% for as many years as the number crunchers say it will take to recoop the funds. This might help everyone for a period of time rather than a one check stimulus check that is blown the instant people receive it. Not to mention it helps the home owners that are realistic with their purchases and locked in a rate they can afford. |
Okay, starting with the housing industry then. Having the ..go.ve.rn.me.nt.. give free money to the .mo.rt.ga.ge.. lenders who caused this .c.r.i.s.is.. in the first place? A terrible idea. Besides, the majority of those loans were not properly .s.e.c.urized, so many people do not realize that they can fight it in court and just stay in their home. So much for all the .i.l.l.e.g.al.. repo's. They are then over, once everyone realizes this. This is what I have been saying all along. Is anyone really listening or reading the suggestions?
Increase the tax brackets? This may work, but then again, even the .t.ax.ing.. ..s.y..s.t.e.m.. in our country is ..i.ll.eg..a.l.. and has no l.e.g.al.. basis, which many do not realize as well. There is not one single .l.aw.. to serve as a foundation for it's structure. (More on this later).

| Quote: | Convince a non-political individual or organization to establish and fund The Great American Economic Sweepstakes (another name could be used). The sweepstakes would be a contest between teams from various colleges, think tanks, private organizations, internet discussion groups, and other places. The objective would be to devise the plan that best sets our economy on the track to sustainable growth and economic well being for the greatest number of our people while preserving the earth's resources. The plan must take into account our interaction with other economies throughout the world. Other factors will also be considered as the ground rules for the Sweepstakes are established. The prize would be a Gold trophy with the winning team's name engraved in diamonds. The trophy would reside and be displayed at Capitol. In addition a gift of ten million dollars would be given to a valid organization of the winner's choice that serves the poor. Many details still must be worked out. Who would judge? How would it be judged? Little things like that! |
A great American Economic Sweepstakes? This sounds somewhat like Eds idea, actually. A gold trophy with diamonds? I prefer Eds award system. Okay, granted, giving the money to an organization that supports the poor sounds fair also. Maybe even a better idea, now that I think about it. If it is a public problem, someone should not become a millionaire just because he has the best idea. |

What can a Dwayne Johnson do best, to help America?
I would say he would be the perfect roving Ambassador for Health Education and Welfare... Special Assistant to the Cabinet Officer, find out in all 50 States, how can we increase education effectiveness.
As in, are we producing enough math and science graduates?
Are we preparing our youth for employment skills, or just memorization and pass testing skills?
Do we all understand the critical role sports plays, as in teamwork, problem solving, achieving goals, personal responsibilties?
Have this roving ambassador meet the educators in all 50 states.
He is an amazing, inspirational human being, and he could make changes.
His talents are needed. _________________ Ed Ziomek |

I just realized my error. It is not appropriate to be mentioning someone's name without his permission, without his/her knowledge, and I apologize.
I should have been more generic. We all know the "Johnny Appleseeds", the "Jane Appleseeds" in our communities that really seem to be the All American, stand up for goodness, proactive personalities making changes, those kinds of Americans everyone is proud of.
Those are the people that we need in government, helping us, fighting for us, representing us.
Maybe we ought to have a National nominating process for senior level assistance internships... bringing the voice of the people directly to the top. _________________ Ed Ziomek |

Thanks for response. The suggestion is very valid and note-worth. Engaging the brightest ones as this is a good start.
What about the other ideas suggested, or the ones made by other users on those sites and links posted? There are many more there.

Notice how the powers that would be or are always have something under their sleeve. Catch then the latest news and info while it is hot and before it may not be available anymore.
These two last links have much to say in terms of how the current crisis all began. It would be interesting to see participants comments on the same.
I can't see how Obama plans to spend another 775 billion when our debt has already reached stratospheric regions. So getting us into more debt to get us out of crisis? Doesn't seem to be a good idea.
The last two links I posted are a must to read for anyone that wants to get a different perspective and get the big scoop.
So check out the links again above. You will be surprised. Don't forget to save any information to your computer, in case you might need it, and to share with others as well.
**No surprise, given the current state of affairs.
So if you looked for them and did not find, check them out again. |

With many of the links disappearing within 24 hours or less after they were created, one can see a pattern emerging where those who manipulate the media and web based information would not like the public to know the facts. Some believe this sounds alarmist, but certainly it is not, when there is no true freedom of speech, and this is ever more being clearly demonstrated. The established leaders in the world would not like the public to be aware of certain issues and have the ability to make sure they don't find out. So that is why I say, catch the news while you can and while it is hot.
This link contained some very interesting discussions as well, and seems to have disappeared as well for the same reasons -->>

This link may not survive very long also -->>
http://www.minyanville.com/articles/Federal+Reserve-Bank+of+Japan-Bank+of+England/index/a/12770
At the rate links are vanishing from the web, it would be interesting to see others actually notice this as well and gather those on the same or similar subjects for a pooling and exchange of information. We cannot expect to be able to resolve the current crisis, if there is not truly complete freedom on the web of self-expression and sharing of information, as we are seeing currently in various realms of cyber space. There is a very active effort going on to remove information from the public eye that they feel will reveal what is really going on. This is occurring with link after link.
Despite all the openness and willingness of disclosure of the new upcoming administration, will all these obstacles be overcome? Will freedom of expression be guaranteed in this country and around the world? Since we have a controlled media as well, one cannot see how.
So even if we enlist the best and brightest, will there hand be tied, or will they be free to implement any and all best ideas, even if it means completely reforming the current system which is not working? Or will the powers who would like to see it remain bar them from actually changing things for the better? This is very scary indeed, when the best ideas are out, when we know how to resolve it all, but when it is so ingrained that one cannot fix it without disrupting those who have the power, will and energy to bar anyone and anything from bringing about the changes needed, if it will disrupt the cartel of power established.
And many solutions are to revive the economy, and not simply resolving the crisis itself. If we are to resolve the crisis, we must understand first how it all started in the first place. If there is no true liberty to study this and share with others the truth**, then there is no way to resolve it. So we need to ask first what started the financial crisis, before we can ask and answer how to solve the crisis. But when we start to ask too many questions and discover the truth, we find the truth is just to much to bear and the problems go much deeper then we could ever imagine. We are then up against the established status-quo that will do all needed to impede their removal from power, and reforming their structure which is not working.**2
One could only wish it were different and that the path were easier. There is no free lunch, as the saying goes. Change always comes with much effort and sacrifice.
**2 (See links provided earlier in previous post to find out why).

No, reading your latest conspiracy theory is not very interesting.
Certainly this current economy is due to speculative bubbles bursting but that does not necessarily mean that full reserve banking is better. Does any modern country use full reserve banking?
I have had a few posts deleted from other websites but never here as far as I can recall. When they where deleted from other sites it was because the opinions expressed where not in line with the views of the admin. I suspect that as long as you post to your own blog and then provide a link to that and also discontinue your lunatic ramblings you will probably stop being banned from this site.
As with all social interaction the key is to operate within the acceptable parameters of the society which you are in. _________________ -Chris Stewart

Full reserve ban-king was mentioned. The model of a -c entral- ban k can be adopted, without the need for control on the part of the private sector. This, as occurs in other countries. The cen-tral --b-ank is run and controlled by the g-ov-er-n-m-ent and not by private -b-an-k-s who hold a m-on-op-oly on the m-o-n-e-y. If some are aloof to the matter, that is their personal opinion. The article was taken from Y-tube also and is very surprising if some do not find it strange we are where we are due to the structure they have created.
Nobody has the right also to call others a -l-u-n-a-tic. The amount of web b-u-lly-ing- and -h-a-r-a-s--si--ng-- of others here is tolerated for an obvious purpose, it serves some an objective. That is, to contradict just for the sake of contradicting, and to de-value/ attempt to dis-credit the ideas of others. This type of attitude has already been demonstrated to be of no value, as Ed pointed out, and demonstrates the ill character of those who do so.
Truly calling others names or discrediting their ideas and thoughts certainly is not operating within any reasonable "social parameters". This is --a-b-u-s-e-- of special privileges at it's best.
And reasons for members having posts or other info d-e-l-et-ed is not up to individuals to judge on, as they cannot know fully what is occurring, but only give their personal opinions.
Such j-u-d-g-e-mental attitudes also about what is being edited on the web and what is not demonstrates a lack of knowledge as well, and failure to look into the subject. Those who are informed know what is truly happening, as they have researched it. There are many on the web who are aware of this problem, and as soon as they find interesting information, they save it to an external drive, particularly UTube videos which frequently are removed within 24 hours.
Certainly coming into a discussion only to criticize other members and dis-credit their ideas is most unpleasant for outside readers and is a very b-a-d --attitude, as has already been pointed out. Some still do not "get it." They can't seem to -b-u-g- --off. With the shortage of serious individuals who really want to participate in constructive debate, this is no surprise that such individuals would keep coming back with the same criticism.
Interesting how it made a difference also changing the search availability parameters some in the new settings. This allows the sites to remain online a little longer, when they are not as easily found.
This discussion is for those who have ideas. Those who have no ideas of their own will truly only come in to criticize others and criticize those that do. Feedback that is critical and not positive and is not providing any new fresh ideas certainly does not fit in with this entire discussion and such individuals are not doing this discussion these forums any favor as well, but rather are only stirring up d-i-s-s-e-n-t.
There are many more who have commented on the Msn site, with out of the box thinking. It would be interesting to see ideas and reactions to those as well. For those that missed, with so much confusion going on, here it is again -->>

What it is all about. Young - with a rice bowl!
Thanking Simon Narramore, the photographer for bringing this young lady, and her rice bowl, to the world. Taken in Xinjiang, western China, I am struck by how Irish they all look, and wrote about it in “Irishy tribes of China”.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/simonnarramore/643758174/in/set-72157600522950493/
But bottom line, all we should worry about is getting the people of the United States, and then the world, to safely have their bowl of rice, and enjoy their families: love, peace happiness, that is what it is all about. Not everyone here is getting their bowl of rice.
The whole point for this thread... how can we get our own house in order, to take care of our own, then to export prosperity and peace and security?
And special mention to the CARE program... “I am powerful”, empowering women, worldwide.

| Quote: | Here's a few:
Eliminate all taxes for citizens over 65 years of age. Assuming they have worked all thier lives, they have paid enough! The money they would then have would quickly be spent and help the lousy economy!
Eliminate all the lifetime "perks" the retiring president and members of congress enjoy. They served thier term, and were paid for it...why should taxpayers support them for the rest of thier lives? Also, eliminate the ability of career politicians to vote thier own raises! What a sham! I had to actually perform in my career to earn a raise!
Eliminate all imports from China! When is the last time you were able to purchase ANYTHING that was not made there(including AMERICAN FLAGS!)? What do we sell to them? Is this a balanced trade? Horsepucky! Make it profitable for al the companies that have gone "offshore" for thier products to bring those jobs back here! If they refuse...tax the hell out of those products and see how fast they comply!
Get the heck out of Iraq. Find and eliminate the terrorist strongholds and make it known that the United States will not tolerate any country harboring these scumbags. Economic sanctions first, and if that is not effective, .....we have more bombs than they do! The time for "speaking softly" is past...let's get on with the "big stick" part of the quote!
Sieze the assets of every CEO who has destroyed the company they were entrusted to run, and put the money back into the company and to the shareholders.....put the CEO's in jail...REAL jail, not some country club! Is it not ironic that of all the criminals in the business world, who gets sent to jail? Martha Stewart! Holy crap, what a travesty!!!!
Put God back in the schools...it might not add a single dollar to the economy, but it might just help to raise a generation that has a stronger moral and ethical attitude toward life and business dealings!
That should give a few of you a few things to cogitate on! |
Now that is a fine idea, why should retired people pay any taxes. With all the people going to retire, there could be many. But often retired people are broke, so don't know how significant this would be.
About the perks idea, and benefits to politicians, this is good. But it won't resolve our crisis as a whole.
Eliminate imports from China? Well, we can't go ahead and completely eliminate all free trade now...But, certainly anything to help bring back industry to America is not a bad idea.
Now getting the heck out of Iraq, I like that one. Was STRONGLY against this Iraq thing from the start. But we were able to route out those training camps etc so it was good also in a sense. Bad part is we made politicians rich exploring large contracts there.
Seising assets of CEOs is a good idea, but we can't have to much big g-o-v policity and keep the big stick contained also.
Now putting God back in the schools I like that one also.
Over and out. |

| Quote: | Here's another idea I saw over at the financialsense web site. Make the banks non profit public utility's. Kind of like the regulated power company's, except non profit.
They can only collect enough earnings to cover costs. No selling of mortgages, the bank who originates the loan must keep the mortgage. No lending for real estate without 20% down payment. No investing in exotic derivatives. Enforcement of conservative lending practices in other words.
Another alternative is to allow the banks to make some profits, but the profits must be used to fund universal health care, social security and State budget programs. Or other programs along these lines.
The second idea, and this one is a real winner, is to use computer models to maintain the base money supply. No more guessing and manipulating by the Federal Reserve. Program the computer to maintain a base expansion of 1.8-2% growth of the money regardless of war, famine feast or boom times. Eliminate the wealth destroying monster we call inflation! It keeps poor people poor and makes rich people richer. It is taxation without representation and needs to be brought under control once and for all! |
Hey financial sense. They got some sense there too. Good going, I like the sense thing.
Hey and the idea is great. Someone finally realizes the banks we got aren't cutting it. Making them public utilities is not a bad idea I guess. And if they are non-profit, much the better. Why not go full steam ahead with removing the private part of the f-e-d as well.
And no selling of mortgages? This sounds a little strict now. Just make sure they are not passed on and wraped up in pretty clothes and disguised as good investments.
20% down payment for real estate lending? That is a good idea. And keep payments to no more then 20% of current income.
Use bank profits to fund universal health care? Not a bad idea as well.
Computer models to maintain the base money supply? Huummm.. ..this may work. I like taking the guessing part out also. Keeping the base expansion growth rate may work, but we can't have our economy controlled by a computer program now, can we?

| Quote: | | It doesn't seem like the financial minds know how to operate an economy without a "healthy" dose of inflation. I saw an old "newsreel" type of clip about the Great Depression some time back and it was trying to explain what the causes of the Depression were and what was being done to correct it. It was extolling the virtues of Inflation and how that it would bring the country out of it.............some things never change. It is the unseen, insidious tax that keeps things running. |
Yes, a lot of truth to that also. They seem to need something to keep them going and without taxes, the system would grind to a halt. Studying the Great Depression may help, but we cannot apply the same formulas today, as things are different. Again, just re-building roads and shovel ready jobs is not going to create growth. It just gives people food on their table, but doesn't solve the financial crisis.

| Quote: | this is my rendition of the new stimulus plan I call the 1040 Plan here as follows:
$50,000.00 over a four year period to each American family.
This sent in payments of $1041.66 a month for 4 years.
This would be the way to boost the economy.
Each month everyone would have this supplement so if u think about where
this would go each month (a Normal family spending it) think of all the ways
that it would inject money back into the economy and raise peoples hopes and
open the chance to realize dreams and goals. Who would benefit?
Auto loans would become readily available, retail would have to hire more to
handle this amount of spending each month, banks would feel secure in giving
out loans for homes.....so on and so on...just a thought but really consider this one.... |
So many people have been talking about giving money to families... Just dosing out money, in my opinion, is not going to make us more productive. And people may hold on to the money and not even spend it in the first place.

All of the ideas above have merit, simply because they are backed with passion for an honest solution to where others have placed us.
The automotive bailout as structured, just deepens the problem and sets the Big 3 up for a more expensive failure (for taxpayers). There is a better way.
As you can easily imagine, the bailout has no ability to stimulate people to buy cars. Instead of making loans, why wouldn't it make more sense for the government to dedicate $34B in purchase orders for two million new American made vehicles under the following conditions?
Every government entity from the ACF to the White House, every state from Alabama to Wyoming, every city from Aberdeen to Zionsville, every county....you get the idea..... every agency fills out a bid form to replace their share of two million vehicles.
EVERY American made vehicle is in the mix whether it's a Chevy from Fort Wayne or a Honda from Ohio. Let's say the Building Department in Zionsville needs two sedans. They submit their specifications to three local dealers in their city. Low man wins the bid. That scenario, times 1 million. If the government can't use all 2 million cars, give a few thousand to the Red Cross, the YMCA, and other non-profits. If 2 million won't go very far, set up a rationing system, only replace cars that are more than X years old. It's not brain surgery. At least the taxpayers get a new fleet of vehicles instead of worthless Big 3 stock for their money.
Regarding the union wage question, allowing ANY AMERICAN MADE VEHICLE to compete for the order speaks for itself. If the unions can't make concessions to make their manufacturers competitive with other US made vehicles, Mother Nature will take care of the problem.
The whole point is getting people back to work. All of a sudden the guy working the line at the F-150 plant knows he has at least a year's work and suddenly feels confident enough to buy a new sofa. The guy making the radios at Delco decides he's solid and can buy a new roof for his house. The guy building Chevy trucks decides he's ready to buy a new furnace. The guy making seats at a supplier to Ford.... again you get the picture. The dynamics are all about confidence in the future. The sofa maker, the roofer, the furnace man all benefit from new vehicles being built, it's a trickle up..or sideways. At least there's a trickle. What we fear is the unknown, if these people feel confident they have a solid job, that confidence will spread faster than a cold at pre-school.
It's not so much our country is all that much different than it was 2 years ago, it's how people FEEL about it. They feel bad, low, betrayed and afraid. If we just throw dollars at the big guys, nobody wins. The people on Main Street are really scared and rightfully so. The doom and gloom guys have it right unless people go back to work in a hurry.
We're an automotive society, our economy is based on the "psychosis of more", but tough love is going to kill the patient. We need to restructure our economy to a higher value system over a period of decades, not months. Let's deal with hybrids, global warming, and being green when we get out of the red. This, (insert catchy name here) program is a workable solution that can be put into place in weeks, not years. Idle hands are the devil's workshop, getting people back to work will pay dividends one thousand times greater than TARP.
Thanks so much for using your brain power to think this through and tweak the technical aspects. |
Have the public sectors buy new fleets of American made vehicles? Not a bad idea as well. Good points. The current bail-out for auto makers needs serious reform and re-thinking.
How about giving big tax breaks to rental car agencies that buy American made vehicles? And the same for hospitals, police stations, and on and on..... Great ideas! I like this last post! We need to focus on re-building confidence. Once the chain is working again also, the whole s-y-s-t-em picks itself back up. |
