What makes a city successful to you?
Is it convenience (opportunities/ experiences)?
convenience in how we…
move (types of transportation);
work (types of jobs);
live (types o dwellings);
socialize (types of interactions);
consume (types of shops/ resources);
entertain (types of recreation/ leisure);
inhabit (types of spaces)?
Does success lie in…
spatial organization? character/ people? infrastructure/ amenities?
any thoughts are greatly appreciated!!! |

Successful cities have the basic services...
commerce
recreation
transit
natural foods
clean air
pure water
communications (postal, telecom, wireless)
integrated and compact layout
population appropriate to infrastructure capacity
connectivity to region

Its a combination of all, inhabitants of a city are the main factor.
i think u meant how an architectural urban fabric (of a city) is influenced by those factors,
do u mean that?
