Any insight into this wierd site?

I was researching OSY (fire protection equipment--anyone happen to know what it means?) and I happened to find this "Mac OSY" site which is an elaborate Mac hate site. Very strange

I have no insight into the site, but I actually found it kind of funny... It looked to me like someone moved from OS 9 to OS X, got overwhelmed, started drinking beer and created a website to shar their frustrations! Smile

I have to say that I've never moved up in an OS to something new with less problems than moving from OS9.2.2 to OSX (10.3.4). I tried earlier 10.x versions but didn't move 100% until it looked "Right good."

Earlier Mac OS major upgrades and Wintel upgrades were fraught with problems, though indeed they could be solved by one means or another.

OSX just never needed anything but OSX.3.4 application versions, and in one or two cases (Quickeys) an updater.

Me too. Good satire. I long ago gave up the platform wars. People should use the system that is right for them. Personally, I would rather stick needles in my eyes than willingly choose Windows, but recognize that others feel differently.

Full disclosure-

I believe the needles in the eye analogy gets credited to Alfred.

I quite liked the site. It's easy to poke fun at 'the others' but sometimes there is some truth behind the fun.

For what ever the reason, people can become fixated on having a go at the opposition. It can even become an obsession.

I don't know why, but it does happen....

Bo: And some of us have no choice because of software that has no Mac counterpart, and in some cases won't run acceptably on the existing Mac hardware even with MS's VPC. Maybe the new G5's & new VPC will fix that

Bo: Ahhh...But Alfred hypes the pain of ACAD to sell needle tools on the Mac! Pure profit motive.

I wish I could take credit for the needles quote, but it weren't me who said that.

I always like Peggy Noonan's description of how she thought Ronald Regan's first marriage broke up. He was the head of the actors union, had to carry a weapon for a year and a half because he was a target for the communist party, etc. She said something about how it was easy to imagine that one day his wife looked out the window at the blue sky, the birds in the trees and thought "I would rather set my hair on fire than listen to this man..."

It is kind of funny, but also a little bitter. A whole website?

On the other hand some just put their valuable time into silly cartoons to lampoon their least favorite program...and entertain their friends.
