This is an interesting website of Olympic stadium concepts. The renderings and models look great. Check out B12, the suspending retractable roof, i'd like to see that built.

Hi Chuck

'http://www.bjghw.gov.cn/forNationalStadium/indexeng.asp#1 ' is really a very interesting website.

Thanks for the link. Hope more students get to see these proposed designs. Amazing 3D presentation.

cheers!

Thanks very much for that link... I personally like B11, especially for their exploration on the "structure = facade" theme. It blew my mind.

The others all look quite audacious, although they don't add anything new. Sliding roof + 100,000 capacity + sustainabilty... they've all got it.

Have you ever been to an olympic stadium/villa/complex years after an olympic? I've seen Barcelona's and my sister's been to Sydney's, and they're so nostalgic, basically because they can't find them a good/profitable use after the 2-week party (olympics). Only B12 addresses this issue, although they don't state clearly how.

Since none includes any info on budgets, I'd stick to B12

Cheers,
Max

Sorry, I meant to say I'd stick with B11.

in one statement, B08 says the 100K people can enter and exit at the same time. now that's a true design. one step closer to the ideal answer.
this is very often a problem, "Q" to get in and "Q" to get out.

...meaning 200K at in total?
I agree with you - that is true excellence.
