Hi,
Can someone help me interpret the dimensions on this floorplan? The shapes are irregular and I have no idea what the dimensions of the rooms are... (I am not in the architecture field).

There's no way to know for sure.
You can ask for a fully dimensioned plan, or, if that's a scale drawing you have, you may measure it yourself. I'm afraid there's no reliable way to do that from here with that image. |

I love this floor plan, few corrections to improve the closets may be in order.
RE reading dimension in the USA, the first dimention reads from left to right, the secon dimention from bottom to top; so a room 10' x 9' is ten feet wide by 9 feet deep. Disregard the angular areas since they may not be usable in a practical way, but will add the idea of space to the rooms. |

| It is quite simple.Measure the known dimension ,Say 10'0" mentioned in the drawing is 4.5 Cms when measured in your scale.10 /4.5 = 2.223 which is the scale factor.Then measure the line for which you want to find the lenght say it is 13 Cms.Then the lenght of the line will be 13*2.223=28.886' |
