I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am doing a report and need to know how you find information on placing a bid on a project. Or placing an RFP.
This is primarily for commercial projects. i.e. Public School, Subway Stations.
I was also curious if someone could break down the process of how it all works from start to finish.
How do architects work with engineers. Who places the bid for the contract?
Any additional information is appreciated.
Thanks

In a nutshell HOW DO YOU GET THE LARGE PROJECT BUSINESS in the industry.
Are you contacted and asked to place a bid, or do you find projects in which to place bids on? |

I can give you the whole sequence but not on this forum.
You MAY be contacted, IF you are a known and good contractor, for a bid or even a negotiated contract. Otherwise you need to find the projects on your own and bid as best you can, in a competitiive manner.
Try looking at Dodge Reports, part of the McGraw-Hill information system; they issue reports continually on construction projects, bidding dates, etc.
Look in newspapers' classifieds for legal ads that are posted by governmental agencies regarding bidding of projects. They explain the project and how you can get documents to use for bidding. |
