The way it working seems bizarre.

When I open a stationery it makes an incremental copy of itself each time. Is that the way its supposed to work? It doesn't make any sense to me.

By any chance, is your 'stationary' file one that you used under PC2000?

If so (my theory is that) everytime you open it, it is probably creating a new PC6 file. If you replace te PC2000 stationary file with a PC6 stationary file, the behavior would stop.

If the 'stationary' file is already a native PC6 file, then I am at a loss to explain the behavior...

cheers,
patrick

This has been since the first release of OS X and happens to all other programs.
Strange thing is that it only behaves like this when you doubleclick the stationary.
When opening from a menu or dropping it on the program icon it behaves like in OS 9.

Thanks Paul;

You're right. I tried it with AppleWorks. Makes you wonder what's behind this. Is it an OSX security issue? Is Apple hiring too many Windows to Mac converts? Seems to me the shortest avenue to using a stationery file is to double click. I guess you could open it once and use "Recents" after that.

I like change, new things, but not when my most basic habits are being messed with.

Glad I didn't assume ES was the owner of this one. Makes me a little more empathetic to what they have to deal with to keep us happy.
