Can cultures be globalized? i know my Q might not prove to be helpful in your project, but ur posing a debateable topic.

can cultures be globalized

what really defines a culture is how a group of people carry it out through generations. it is "culture to them" as they are proud of having and doing it. and to viewers it is "culture" because they are not familiar with it and treat it as other peoples culture.

culture can very much be related to religion, infact most of the time it is a combination of factors like religion, surrounding environment, language, climate.

can religion be Globalized!!

whether i agree with you or not regarding globalization of cultures. i can see that you have some nice ideas, and you'r going for something deep.

If it is not too late to change your project, something relevant might be possible and even easier to acheive, like a cultural gathering centre, where people from different cultures get to meet, not unify but through the differences they get the opporunity to understand and respect each others cultures, such an idea can be expressed with some symbolic forms and shapes, if you are confidence with your creativity you can insert different elements and different rythms but trying always to keep the balance and harmony, you might be able to use elements from different cultures, and the bulding itself can communicate in a universal language that all cultures understand, Architecture that speaks for peace, respect and a better understanding of different people and different parts of the world that can always be different but not strange

if you did, maybe you can get help from your instructor but here's what i think:

you can have a gallery, to display Artifacts and stff and even to hold exhibitions from different cultures, you could have a permenant section with classical elements and maybe pictures and galleries and then the exhibition hall where each time an exhibition from a different country takes place.

Again you might need an Auditorium maybe live preformances, different traditional music or plays on stage.

you can have an educational centre, maybe a second floor where you can place a library, some classes and a meeting room.

this is to start with, tell me what you think and maybe we can come up with more ideas and try to find some similar case studies.

one more thing:

you should stress on the fact that harmony and peace between cultures is a dream. and we should make sure that our children grow with this understanding, and so you should pay attention and create a place and activities for the youngsters. if we can build a small room in this centre, where children from different countries can sit together and play simple games and sing songs together. this small place will grow inside each one of them as they grow. nd thats what we Architects build.

well even i was thinking on the same programmes and the same time i was looking at the realization of the project in todays context in the indian union, it makes me necessary to select a site in such a city , which is self sufficient in terms of infrastructure analyzing the requirement.and i have got the same , site for my project in metros,but actually problem is my profeesors are stressing onthe feasibilty of the projects and the case studies because ultimate is the product what i am going to come up with. can u suggest me a suitable name for the same which not only should be clear to explain the topic as they say it is vague but also it should prick when someone hears i am to lookong for the same.
can u also tell me how can i come up with my project becaus when i discuss it with someone they might say oh this is a kind of culturalcentre in the town
