Ohhhh boy! Who? What are we talking about here? Favorite living architect with a "license" to practice architecture. Hmmmm, narrows it down a bit I suppose. I have an equal group at the top, from various countries and such. I haven't met many of them yet, this weekend I should meet some more. I'm am leaning towards Jack Sobon, but I'm still waiting to see what good ideas come about. Hmmmm maybe a naval architect? When is the election?
I feel like smiling more. _________________ n/a |

| You never know...the best architect could be an anonymus person. Why should it be a "name" |

Top Architect ???
what a question, can it really be answered? in my opinion its cant be answered because you first have to discuss the standards by which each one of the top architects are going to be judged. in my personal opinion. i love frank lloyd wright's wonderful masterpieces and i truly believe he was advanced and had an imagination that was at least 100 years ahead of his time. to be more specific, i was looking at his home called "falling water" and you can clearly see how advanced his architecture was in his time. he definitely opened the door for many more innovative architects as well as young architects. if you have not seen all his work, i a sure you that you will be impressed and you will enjoy it greatly...
so, in relation to the best i dont know but i can say that he is my favorite... |

| Oscar Niemeyer certainly comes across to me (via his memoirs 'The Curves of Time') as the nicest person with a sizeable public profile in architecture. My favourite individual, in terms of their actual work, is Borromini and, of today, Peter Zumthor comes across most impressively in terms of their complex mastery of psychological craftsmanship. And I have to admit Rem remains unavoidable for his sheer intellectual power. |

The best architect was Thomas Jefferson.
He has gone beyond just designing buildings.
He was also the author of the Declaration of Independence, became President of the United States, purchased the Louisiana Territory from Napoleon to expand the US, built the University of Virginia, and so on.
Show me any other architect who has their face carved in Mount Rushmore, or cast on a US coin.
Anybody else pales by comparison. |

"That which is not particularly mentioned shall be built as if it had been mentioned from the beginning" anonomous barn building architect
I think that's the quote.
I'm voting for that person. _________________ n/a |

The best architect has to be Palladio.
Wherever you look in whatever occidental city you go to Palladios influence is there. From aristocrats in england to presidents in the USA his stle leads the way. His masterpiece Villa Rotonda is perfect. |

| Different people have their different point of view. Who is the best Architect? Nobody knows it, only God will know. I personally do not have any idea who is the best Architect. However, I did admire Zaha Hadid and her works, as a women, she is a very successful women Architect. |
