This might be a little off topic. But since some of you have helped me by giving me feedback on my designs now i need a little help.

Today I recieved a letter from the college of architecture where I want to go. And i was selected for an Interview. Very Happy didnt think i would get it,This is the final step for acceptance. Therefore I would like to know if anyone can give me some tips on what colleges look for in an Interview. Like how should i be dressed, what should i know, basically things that would help me have a better chance of being accepted.

Thanks in advance

In addition here is a new design of a house. I think is better than my old one lol please some feedback again. Im thinking of bringing this one with me to the interview... so please leave as many feedback as u can give me Smile thanks, hope you like this one better than the other one lol
Forgot to mention, this design is not completed, is just lets say a stereotype.

(If you see that little hole, kinda in the middle, is a cascade (if thats how you spell it) is next to the entry door.)

You should be yourself. If you’re not comfortable in a suit then don’t wear one. You should have an interest in Architecture. If you really have a passion for it then you will already have been doing some reading on the subject. You should have looked into the basic principals and arguments present in the Architecture of today and in the past (Form follows function/ function follows form etc). If you don’t know an answer to something then don’t try and mumble your way through it. Don't be cocky and don't crack jokes.

I don't like your design, Architecture isn't just about aesthetics. You should be showing me a layout and some of the ideas behind your design like how you imagine the people moving through it or using the different areas not a final finished no room for interpretation building. Although it does prove you have an interest.

thanks key. Well the problem is that with the free program that i use is really difficult to do an inside look or show what i try to do in the inside. So must of the time I dont do the inside since is just a waste of time because is not going to look even close to what im trying to do.

However here is how I think the inside will be. When you go inside, there is going to a probably 4 step stair (just like in the entry) on the right side leading to a living room. the stairs to go to the second floor will be on the right side of the living room ( the part you can see sticking out of the house with the long window) If you are in the living room to your left there is going to be a arc-like wall tha will form a hallway. When you turn to the left after going down the stairs, you will see a little bar in the arc-like wall, and next to it the entry to the kitchen. and right there is going to be the dinning room. There is another living room if you keep going through the arc-like wall "hallway"and then there is a bed.room on the left front of the house. BTW the balcony is part of the main bedroom (second floor)

Sorry because im not good at explaining things, im better at showing them (I need to work on that) and also sorry for bad grammar.

Design.. thanks a lot I hope that i get accepted.

Well I was born in New York. Lived there for 5 years. My parents are from Dominican Republic and i lived most of my childhood (9 years) in Dominican Republic. That's the reason why my english is not that good. Houses in Dominican Republic are all unique, in the same street every house is totally different and all of them are contructed with cement. So I grew up watching unique house everywhere i went. Since i was a kid, probably 7 years old I wanted to be an architect. That's the only thing i can remember saying that i wanted to do when i grew up. No one in my family is an architect, must, if not all are businessman. BTW i think the reason why i became so interested in architecture, was because we built a new house in the same street we were living. So i basically saw the house being built from the plans to real life. Recently I moved to New York for 6 months and now i live in North carolina.

If you got any question feel free to ask, if you got any tips feel free also.

Again sorry for bad grammar and such a long post.

You dont need to show the inside in 3d just sketch a floor plan and how you imagine the movement of the people. Remember architecture is the whole not just certain "features".
