need help with MAX 6 AEC objects

If anybody can help, i have a problem with doors and windows in 3d studio max 6. When i try to place a door or window on a wall in most cases it does not "cut" the wall, and i have to do the boolean manually. In some cases it does work well but it is the less possible case..
