Has anyone had this problem or does anyone have a suggestion? . . .

I upgraded to PC6.1 recently on my Cube 1,2GHz with OS 10.3.3.

Now when I launch PC by double-clicking a drawing, it opens in demo mode, meaning I can't save any changes to the drawing. In the start-up window it indicates DEMO instead of my serial number.

If I launch PC directly with the icon it starts up fine. My serial number appears in the start-up window, and I can then open any drawing with "File Open" and it works fine.

Even new drawings have the problem. I can:
1. launch PC via the icon
2. create a new drawing, draw something, and save it
3. close the drawing and quit PC
When I then double click on the freshly created drawing, PC launches in demo mode!

I have . . .
reinstalled PowerCADD, didn't help
repaired privileges, didn't help
ran maintenance routines, didn't help
updated the prebinding, didn't help

Any ideas?

throw away your copy of the demo program and empty the trash.

I did. There's no other copy of PC anywhere on the hard disc.

Everything worked fine with 6.0, and I haven't downloaded another demo!

The only change I made was to update to 6.1.

perhaps you updated to the demo, the demo download is at the top of the page at engsw.com. Try downloading the updater again.

Problem solved:

1. Clicked once on a drawing and called up info pane
2. Under "opens with" chose PC6.01 (for all files of this type)

Bingo.

(It appears that PC 6.0.5 Demo is somewhere on my hard disc, but I haven't been able to locate it.)

Perhaps you downloaded the international version by mistake!

It requires a WIBU key. If it can't find one, it launces in demo mode.
