Deerbrook PUD Public Hearing Today - 2012.0801
Deerbrook PUD Public Hearing Today - 2012.0801
The Public Hearing for the Deerbrook PUD is scheduled this afternoon Wednesday August 1 at 5PM in the Eugene City Council Chambers at 777 Pearl Street.
This application to permit the creation of 47 new single family lots also calls for paving West Amazon to connect south to Fox Hollow.
Protecting the headwaters of Amazon Creek is vital to the environmental health of the whole watershed. As the only remaining place to complete an ecological corridor between the Amazon Greenway and the headwaters of Amazon Creek this site was identified by the Army Corps of Engineers Metro Waterways study as a priority for open space acquisition.
Please attend this hearing to show your concern and support for preserving the Amazon Headwaters Keystone property.

Re: Deerbrook PUD Public Hearing Today - 2012.0801
David, thanks for posting the message here. And good to see you there last night - and to see such a great turnout from neighbors and conservation supporters overall! The hearing seemed to go well, from where I sat.
And apparently, we have a lot more technical work to do, with the extension of the hearing record. Will be interesting to see how the applicants respond. While the hearings official more or less hinted to the applicant that they need to put in a lot more info to support their application, I'm not sure to what extent they're in a position to overcome the factors that led to outdated and incomplete information in the first place.
As of last night, the Deerbrook PUD hearing record has been held open for new testimony without restriction through 5pm on August 22, 2012. Comments can be submitted by email to Associate Planner Becky Taylor at "Becky.G.Taylor@ci.eugene.or.us".
I think this link at the new version of the City web site will bring up the Deerbrook PUD application page:

Click on the "Documents" button to see all the application materials and staff reports, etc., to date.
And here are links to some late-draft versions of the illustrations produced and collected by the Southeast Neighbors team...
(Versions submitted should be appearing at the City web site in the application Documents section linked above.)
