Dear JWmHarmon: Many thanks for your kind and informative reply. Yes, the original layer of roof was wood shake shingles. Interesting idea regarding the mixture of shingles. I don't know if I would have the courage to do that without first seeing a simulation of the concept. Have you seen this executed today? Nor do I know if my roofer would be capable of carrying something like that out. But I will inquire. Perhaps the Owens Corning Architectural Quarry Grey is a better choice, as it mixes some brown shingles with the overall grey. Your link was helpful, also. Very well rendered. Too bad there are not more color choices...if the manufacturers were smart, they would provide input for their various colors and styles. Once again, I sincerely appreciate your time and help.
