Gutters are unnecessary where you have an overhang wide enough to keep the rain wateroff the side of the house.. most down spouts (after a few years)leave the rain water at the base of the house anyway. If your house is on a slab foundation the water is no problem. Rain deverters over windows and doors are all that are needed. Rain gutters were invented and are pushed to homeowners by the makers and installers of rain gutters.Only they benefit.
