I think 2020 experience is far better than any classes at any college for design or decorating regarding kitchen sales. I lost my job as a computer guru of 10 years and looked into this as something to do until the market picked up. All anyone wanted to know was 'do you have experience'. No college was looked at, nor was my background. I told them I had 2020 experience for 2 years and was hired on the spot at several places. Low 20's plus commision.
Shouldn't take very long to learn 2020. MAYBE 2 months. Anything over that (unless you are computer illiterate) then this is probably not the right field for ya. Remember design on 2020 is only about 1/5th of the job...but it gets you in the door. Get a kitchen design book, learn it. Then learn 2020 inside and out. Recreate you and your families/friends kitchens. Put it in your resume, then ask to speak to the person that hires and show them. Don't just submit resumes. You have to talk to the people that hire to get a chance.
