Dear Natural Building Enthusiasts,
Greetings from Solar Energy International! We would like to invite you to our new five day Natural House Building Workshop taking place September 26th to October 3rd!
This fall, SEI will be traveling to the heart of the Black Range mountains near Kingston, New Mexico to teach a Natural House Building workshop and participate in the 2003 Natural Building Colloquium at the Black Range Lodge. This is a great opportunity to learn more about straw bale, adobe, pressed block, cob, natural plasters and more. The Black Range Lodge is a center for sustainable design, demonstration and outreach with nearly every type of natural building technique in all phases of construction on site. Participants in SEI's workshop will be surrounded by inspiration and will be encouraged to focus on one natural building technique or explore them all. The five day workshop will be full of guest instructor presentation, experimentation, open discussion, and extensive hands-on instruction.
As you may know, Catherine Wanek and her husband, Pete Fust will host the Natural Building Colloquium, which will directly follow SEI's workshop, October 5th -11th. This will be an additional seven days of hands-on workshops, presentations and discussions exploring the renaissance of traditional natural building techniques and modern innovations.
The combination of these two events will prove to be amazing. I hope to have as many people join us to sling the mud, slather the plaster and stack the stone and would appreciate any help spreading the word about both events. If you have any events/workshops/announcements you would like us to post, please let me know, I would be happy to do so.
If you would like to learn more about these events or what SEI is up to, please visit www.solarenergy.org or call me at 970.963.8855. Pre-registration is required, so sign-up now!
Hope to see you there!
