Structure is 28' wide & 40' front to back. My ridge beam will extend full front to back 40' plus 12" overhangs. There is a center support only, meaning I have 2 unsupported ridge beam runs of about 21' each. 10:12 slope. I've seen this done with "stretchers" on 48" centers across the 28' width to prevent wall spreading. Rafters on 16" centers is to cope with snow loads and high wind potential on lakefront bluffs.
