"The house, once it has been let, brings in for its builder ground rent, repairing costs, and interest on the building capital invested, as well as the profit made thereon in the form of rent, and, according to the circumstances, the rent installments can gradually amount to twice, thrice, five times, or ten times as much as the original cost price of the house"
- Friedrich Engels.
The problem of housing the "masses" is not a matter of resources or design, but one of intention.
