Posted by Lisa on April 09, 2004 at 11:55:18:Greetings Friends,
Greetings from Solar Energy International! We are pleased to announce that will we be returning to New Mexico and the Black Range Lodge for our five-day Natural House Building Workshop taking place May 3rd to May 7th, 2004!
Our workshop will have extensive hands-on sessions supplemented by intensive classroom sessions, tours and guest instructors. Participants will learn about straw bale, adobe, earthbag, cob, and natural plasters. The Black Range Lodge, having hosted two Natural Building Colloquia, is a center for sustainable design, hands-on demonstration and outreach. With natural building projects in all phases of construction, participants will be encouraged to get their hands dirty! The whole experience will be filled with
inspiration, sharing of knowledge, great food and fun! There will be presentations by lodge host, Catherine Wanek, author of "The New Strawbale Home", and Pete Fust, resident bamboo expert. Guest instructors, Tom & Satomi Lander of The Last Straw Journal and Landerland, a local natural house building business, will teach participants all about earthen plasters.
The tuition cost is $550 for the week. Free camping is available nearby or book a room at The Lodge for a discounted price. Meals are also available at the Lodge. Call 505-895-5652 or visit www.BlackRangeLodge.com for more information.
