May 1988: Seattle Seahawk (football) quarterback Gale Gilbert is acquitted of second degree rape and indecent liberties charges, but in a separate trial for an unrelated case is convicted of attempted second degree assault of a 24-year-old Seattle woman. He is sentenced to 240 hours community service and one year probation.
