It has been my experience that all 3d CAD Applications are not well thought-out except DW. The problem with the modeler part of DW is it not quite complete. It is like playing golf without a putter. You can still get it in the hole but you might have to four putt the ball.
Be patient though Artifice's resident genius is working on DW2.0 as we speak. Putters are easy to make but a really good one costs lots of money.
