I repeat my recommendations:

For mechanical drawings you might look into PowerCADD with WildTools.

also check out the Drawing room at

http://www.engsw.com/Drawings/DrawingRoom.html

PowerCADD can be used with Design Workshop for further 3d modeling
and rendering.
